Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

From Sacred Scripture:  Matthew 28:19-20

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the close of the age.

Revised Standard Version, Second Catholic Edition

From the Rite of Christian Initiation

Through the sacraments of Christian initiation men and women are freed from the power of darkness.  With Christ they die, are buried, and rise again.  They receive the Spirit of adoption which makes them God's sons and daughters and with the entire people of God, they celebrate the memorial of the Lord's death and resurrection.
